This Privacy Policy explains how DataVec, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("DataVec", "we", "us"), collects, uses, and shares personal information when you visit our websites, sign up for or use our developer console and hosting platform (the "Services"), or otherwise interact with us.
Two roles. This Policy covers personal information for which DataVec is the controller — mainly information about our account holders, website visitors, and prospects. Separately, when you run applications on the Services, DataVec acts as a processor of the personal data contained in your Customer Content, processing it on your behalf and under your instructions. Our handling of that data is governed by our Data Processing Addendum (DPA), not this Policy; for that data, you (our customer) are the controller and are responsible for your own privacy notices to your end users.
1.1 Information you provide.
1.2 Information we collect automatically.
1.3 Information from third parties. We may receive limited information from our payment processor (payment status), infrastructure providers, and analytics or anti-fraud tools.
We do not intentionally collect special categories of personal data (such as health or biometric data) about our account holders, and we ask that you not send such data to us through support channels.
We use personal information to:
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
We are based in the United States and may process and store information in the U.S. and other countries. Where we transfer personal data out of the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum), or another lawful transfer mechanism. You may contact us for more information about these safeguards.
Our websites and Console use cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary (for authentication, security, and load balancing) and, where you consent or as otherwise permitted, functional and analytics cookies to understand and improve usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling necessary cookies may impair the Services. Where required, we present a cookie choice at first visit.
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services, and thereafter as required for legitimate business purposes — for example, to comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Operational logs are retained for a limited period consistent with security and operational needs and then deleted or anonymized. Retention of Customer Content is addressed in the DPA and our Terms.
We maintain administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, network isolation, and monitoring. No system is perfectly secure; you are responsible for securing your own credentials and applications. We describe security measures relevant to Customer Content in the DPA. Report security concerns to security@datavec.com.
9.1 GDPR / UK GDPR. If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. You may exercise these rights by contacting privacy@datavec.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
9.2 California (CCPA/CPRA). If you are a California resident, you may have the right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the purposes and categories of recipients, and to request access, correction, and deletion, subject to exceptions. We do not "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under the CPRA, and we do not use sensitive personal information for purposes requiring a right to limit. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. To make a request, contact privacy@datavec.com. You may use an authorized agent, and we will verify requests as required.
9.3 Other jurisdictions. Residents of other U.S. states and countries with comparable privacy laws may have similar rights; contact us to exercise them.
We respond to rights requests within the timeframes required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity before acting.
The Services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact privacy@datavec.com and we will delete it.
Our websites and the applications our customers run on the Services may link to or interact with third-party sites and services that we do not control. This Policy does not apply to them. Personal data handled by applications you deploy is your responsibility as controller; consult that application's own privacy notice.
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide additional notice (e.g., by email or in the Console). Your continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
